Karen is an expert in New Jersey appellate practice and regularly briefs appeals and complex motions across insurance coverage and general liability matters. She co-founded Pomeroy, Heller & Ley in 2012 after joining Mortenson & Pomeroy in 1996.

About Karen E. Heller

Karen E. Heller joined Mortenson and Pomeroy in 1996 and in 2012 co-founded Pomeroy, Heller, Ley, DiGasbarro & Noonan, LLC. She is an accomplished brief writer and is responsible for preparing many of the firm’s written submissions in connection with appeals, trials, and substantive pre-trial motions in a variety of civil matters, including automobile and homeowners defense, insurance coverage matters, and medical malpractice cases. She also has significant expertise in insurance coverage. She has handled more than 75 appeals in the Supreme Court of New Jersey and the Appellate Division. Together with Dan Pomeroy, she has represented insurance companies in some of the most important insurance coverage cases in New Jersey, including:

She has achieved similar success on behalf of insurance carriers in numerous unpublished decisions, and was responsible for the appellate brief on behalf of counsel for plaintiffs in In re Estate of F.W., 398 N.J. Super. 344 (2008).
