John M. Ley joined Mortenson and Pomeroy in 1997 and co-founded Pomeroy, Heller, Ley, DiGasbarro & Noonan, LLC in 2012. Mr. Ley has been engaged in the private practice of law since 1996. After graduation from Rutgers College in 1991 and from the Saint Louis University School of Law, cum laude, in 1995, Mr. Ley served as law clerk to the Honorable Edward J. Toy, J.S.C. from 1996 through 1997.

Mr. Ley’s litigation practice includes the defense of insurance companies in both Superior Court and through Forthright in litigation concerning Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits. Mr. Ley also practices in the areas of auto and general liability, defending insurance companies and insurance entities in insurance coverage dispute litigation, including the defense of individuals in personal injury, property damage, and other casualty loss litigation as well as the investigation of suspected fraudulent claims on behalf of insurance companies.

Mr. Ley has successfully tried to conclusion numerous jury cases in Superior Court and has conducted hundreds of depositions of party, fact, and expert witnesses. Mr. Ley was an invited speaker at the Insurance Council of New Jersey’s Symposium 2003, “New Jersey Auto Insurance: A New Beginning,” covering topics related to the latest developments in PIP arbitration. Mr. Ley is a former member of the Advisory Council to the American Arbitration Association, a member of the Union County Bar Association as well as the New Jersey Defense Association, and also serves as General Counsel to the Italian American Mutual Benefit Labor Society/Club of Scotch Plains, New Jersey.
